Ed­ward gets hon­our from his uni­ver­sity

MED­I­CAL stu­dent Ed­ward Clarke was pre­sented with a pres­ti­gious award by his uni­ver­sity in Poland.

On De­cem­ber 18, the Rec­tor of the Med­i­cal Uni­ver­sity of Lodz Pro­fes­sor Radzis­law Kordek handed the Rec­tor’s Award to the Bray man.

The award is granted in recog­ni­tion of the stu­dent’s aca­demic achieve­ments.

Ed­ward is a fourth-year medicine stu­dent and co-au­thor of the sci­en­tific pa­per en­ti­tled ‘Klinger’s method of brain dis­sec­tion: Re­view of the tech­nique in­clud­ing its use­ful­ness in prac­ti­cal neu­roanatomy teach­ing, neu­ro­surgery and neu­roimag­ing’.

The pa­per was sub­mit­ted to ‘Fo­lia Mor­pho­log­ica’.

Ed­ward was third-place win­ner in the Young Sci­en­tist ex­hi­bi­tion in 2011. He was third in the ju­nior in­di­vid­ual sec­tion for his project ‘Do anti wrin­kle creams re­ally work?’

Ed­ward is from Her­ber­ton in Bray and is a past-pupil of St Ger­ard’s. His par­ents Bren­dan and Lily are very proud of his achieve­ments. He al­ways en­joyed science and is look­ing for­ward to a very promis­ing ca­reer fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of his stud­ies.
