Trespasser on train line

AN intruder on the railway line caused disruption to services between Bray and Greystones on New Year’s Day.

Gardai travelled out to the scene by train to remove the male from the track. He is believed to have been inebriated at the time. The incident occurred at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1. Superintendent Pat Ward said that given the seriousness of the incident, the matter had been upgraded and charges are expected to be brought.

The alleged offence in question is trespass on a railway. Supt Ward said that there was minimal disruption caused, but that the situation was dangerous and not to be encouraged.
