Women enjoy Little Christmas

- By MARY FOGARTY

THE women of Greystones gathered at the Hot Spot Music Venue last Sunday to celebrate the 12th and last day of Christmas.

This was Nollaig na mBan, or Women’s Little Christmas.

The event was very well attended and featured performances and presentations by women in the arts, music and politics.

Everyone raised a cup or glass, had some cake, and enjoyed the camaraderie of the day.

The colourful and delightful Zoryanna tribal dancers ensured that everyone at least tapped a foot to mark moving from one year to the next.

Writer and storyteller Lorraine O’Brien was also there to contribute to the variety of skill on the day.

Mood Swings Trio performed some jazz to the women at the Hot Spot last Sunday. Everyone was only delighted to join the ladies in a song to raise the roof.

Participants and audience members expect to return for a repeat event next year. They enjoyed a fun afternoon of wonderful atmosphere and women’s solidarity.
