A CLASSIC DAY OUT
VINTAGE car enthusiasts had plenty to look forward to on New Year’s Day as The Beehive Pub played host to a static show of cars, motorcycles and tractors.
Club members usually meet up on New Year on an annul basis for the first show of the year.
The static show generated plenty of interest with a steady stream of visitors arriving throughout the day to catch a glimpse of vintage vehicles of al shapes and sizes, including cars, lorries and an old breakdown service recovery vehicle.
The event is organised by Wicklow Vintage Club each year, who were also responsible for arranging the post Christmas fun run which took place on December 29. The run left from Lyhnam’s Hotel in Laragh. All participants stopped in the Woodenbridge Hotel for some lunch. Other members also took part in the Gap Vintage Club run held the following day.
Wicklow Vintage Club was formed in 2005 by a group of like minded vintage and classic enthusiasts who had a keen interest in tractors, cars, engines and motorcycles.
The club’s membership has grown since then as the organisation goes from strength to strength. The club also arranges and carries out a number of charitable fundraisers each year.
