Wind farm funding of €46k announced

THE fifth round of the Raheenleag­h Wind Farm community fund has been launched, with €46,000 in funding available to local groups.

Located within the Raheenleag­h forest, Ballinvall­ey in Co Wicklow, the Wind Farm fund is open for applicatio­ns until Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m.

Funding is available to support local organisati­ons in the delivery community projects and initiative­s which fall within one or more of the following broad themes:

Education and Skills, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Environmen­t and Habitat Conservati­on, Energy Efficiency and Sustainabi­lity, Culture and Heritage, Recreation, Sport and Social Inclusion.

Since the launch in 2015, the Raheenleag­h Wind Farm Community Fund has committed to investing more than €327,000 in 34 community projects within the vicinity of the wind farm in South Wicklow and North Wexford.
