GAA set to honour stars

Cream of the Wicklow crop to be celebrated

-

THE cream of Wicklow GAA’s crop of 2018 will be honoured at the annual Garden County GAA Awards in the Arklow Bay Hotel this Saturday night and what a shindig it promises to be.

After a year of excitement and entertainment at club and county level, this popular bash is a great opportunity for the GAA community to come together and celebrate the men and women who lit up the fields and who played key roles in clubs both last season and before.

A look through the award winners will reveal the name of Dean Healy, Wicklow and St Pat’s stalwart, who shone for the county and lifted the Miley Cup in an unforgettabl eseason for the Wicklow Town man.

Two awards for St Pat’s with the superb Stephen Duffy getting the Club Player award and a double for Glenealy as Warren Kavanagh and Cian Staunton take the county and club hurler of the year honours.

A double for the Dillon family of Tinahely as well as Stephen and David will take to the stage when they collect the Intermediate and Junior ‘C’ football gongs on the night.

Awards for players from Barndarrig, Hollywood, the ever improving Éire Óg Greystones, the brilliant Baltinglass, Tomacork, Shillelagh, Blessington, Knockananna, Coolboy and Stratford-Grangecon as well.
