NEW BEGINNINGS AS CORAL LEISURE UNVEILS NEW GYM
THERE was great excitement in Coral Leisure in Arklow as the leisure centre unveiled it’s refurbished premises full of brand new state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
The official opening was conducted by the Cathaoirleach of Arklow Municipal District, Cllr Miriam Murphy, who congratulated the team, led by centre manager Michael Wolohan, on the positive changes made. Centre member and local councillor Tommy Annesley also spoke at the event.
A large number of local people joined current gym members at the special occasion, where they had the chance to check out the new equipment.
According to Mr Wolohan, the re- sponse has been fantastic so far, and the re-fit has gone better than expected.
He said that, for many people, January is a time when they return to the gym or kick-start a new fitness journey.
‘We can all improve our way of life. Very few of us have the perfect lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise and, in general, a good life balance,’ said mr Wolohan.
‘I believe its simple. To overcomplicate it would make it less appealing and, for most of us, we would fail at the early stages. I believe we have to be mentally ready to improve our lives.’
He said that getting the mind focused is one of the fundamental ways to succeed. After this, his advice is to set out a goal and outline how it can be achieved.
Setting out a timetable, he said, is a great way to help self-improvement to become a habit and prevent people from making excuses not to follow your new plan. Setting short terms goals can also help people to remain focused on the end-game.
‘Celebrate any success, big or small. It will help keep you positive and push you on,’ said Mr Wolohon. ‘The time will come when you reach your goal. What now? You can keep enjoying yourself and forget all the planning and work that has brought you to this point, or you can realise that this is it. You now you have a massive decision to make.
