THE Order of Malta in Bray is recruiting and their volunteers were on hand last Saturday to give potential inductees an idea of what to expect.
They held the event at their centre in Little Bray.
Visitors got to see everything that the ambulance crews can do, including abdominal thrusts, rescucitation and more. Anyone who wanted to join was welcome to drop in and have a look. Founded in 1943, the Order of Malta Ireland - Ambulance Corps - Bray unit is a voluntary charity organisation serving the community of Bray and district. Celebrating over 75 years in Bray, and over 80 years nationally the Order of Malta have a dedicated group of over 4,000 volunteers in their all Ireland Ambulance Corps including a Cadet Corps.
They carry out a variety of voluntary, community activities and fundraise to grow the corps and to support vulnerable groups like the elderly and people with intellectual disabilities. Locally the Bray unit provides ambulance cover for all types events such as Bray Wanderers football in the Carlisle grounds, St Patricks day, Groove Festival, and much more.
