Bray Area Partnership’s Fáilte Isteach conversational English classes for people from new communities have started up again in Bray and Kilcoole.

A €3 donation towards costs is requested.

Classes take place through friendly small group conversations, facilitated by volunteer tutors, on Wednesday mornings in Kilcoole Community Centre, Wednesday evenings in St Peter’s Parish Centre in Bray, and Thursday mornings in St Kilian’s Community School in Bray. You must be living in Bray, Greystones, Kilcoole, Kilmacanogue and Delgany to take part.

Fáilte Isteach is part of a national Third Age Ireland initiative – the idea is that people volunteer their time to teach practical conversational English to people from other countries who live and work in their community.

Improving their English helps students to participate more fully in society, take part in further education and gain employment. The word Fáilte describes the spirit of the project – welcome to our community.

There are also regular talks from different services that provide supports in the local community.

To register contact Lorna Lafferty or Jennifer Jones at 01 286 8266.
