CROSS COUNTRY
Best of luck to Archie Bremner and Abby Horner who qualified and will be competing in the Leinster Schools’ Cross Country competition for EGS on Wednesday 13th Feb in Santry. Adam Logan also qualified but unfortunately can’t attend the event. Congrats and best of luck to all!
MINI COMPANIES
Congratulations to two of our TY mini company groups, So Fetch and Perfect Match who have been selected to represent the school in the Wicklow County Enterprise Board competition in March. Perfect Match are making matching dog bandanas and scrunchies so that you and you dog can always be matching and stylish. So Fetch are making small pet teepees so that your pet has somewhere snug and stylish to rest.
EGS CAREERS
5th year students took a trip to UCD last Thursday . While TY girls traveled to Iwish (Inspiring Women in Science, Engineering & Technology) to learn about the wide range of career opportunities in this area.
TY NEWS
This week has seen a flurry of activity taking place on all things TY Play related with the set nearing completion. A special thanks to Ms Cody and her team of painters who have really brought the shop to life. It’s great to see the actors finally able to work the stage and see their characters coming to life.
Elsewhere the students enjoyed a presentation from Microsoft on STEM careers which looked specifically about career oportunities in science, engineering and maths. Finally the TY’s are all out and about next week on their first block of community service. This is the first year we have run with this idea and we are excited to see how the students get on and the impact they can have in their local community. and transition year students were able to chat and ask questions about their career path. It was a great success and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all who helped out on the night.
