RNLI VISIT
On Friday, February 1, a group of TY students visited the RNLI lLifeboat station in Arklow. They met with some of the volunteers and were given a tour of the lifeboat and the station. They were given important information on what to do if they were in a situation where they needed to avail of the RNLs services. The girls then had an opportunity to ask the volunteers any questions they had after they were shown the equipment needed and gear that is worn when they are carrying out a rescue. A great and informative day was had by all the students. Thanks to all the volunteers who took the time to speak with us. (Meghan O’Halloran F4) Book Club
This term the Book Club have chosen three books to focus on for their reading group: ‘Turtles All the Way Down’, by John Green, ‘Dumplin by Julie Murphy and ‘Simon Versus the Homosapiens Agenda’ by Becky Albertalli. These books came highly recommended by Arklow Library. The girls are finding these books very enjoyable and interesting and would recommend them all to students who are looking for a good young adult fiction novel. The Book Club meet every Thursday at lunch time.
