Bench warrant issued after failure to appear

A BENCH WARRANT was issued at Gorey District Court last Wednesday for a defendant who failed to appear.

Kevin McGrogan, 4 Maple Grove, Bray, Wicklow, was due to appear before Judge Gerard Haughton to answer charges relating to alleged offences committed at Rath Stores, Ballygarrett, Gorey, on January 14, 2018, and at Mario’s Takeaway, Main Street, Coolgreaney, on October 14, 2018.

When the defendant failed to appear before the court, Judge Haughton complied with a request from Sergeant Stephen Ennis for a bench warrant to be issued for the defendant’s arrest.
