Fundraising concert to be held to help with Orlagh’s treatment

-

A FUNDRAISING concert will be held at the Harbour Bar on Friday, March 29, to help support Bray woman Orlagh Hanratty following her serious climbing accident in New Zealand.

Orlagh (25) is out of danger after falling from a 30 foot cliff on Thurs- day, February 7. Her parents, Tommy and Jenny, flew to New Zealand to be by their daughter’s side and a fund was set up to help with expenses as well as any treatment required.

Orlagh’s dad Tommy has expressed gratitude to everyone who has sup- ported the family through what has been ‘probably the most frightening time of our lives’.

‘It is quite humbling to know that we have such amazing friends and family that rallied around in such a terrible time,’ he said.

While paramedics did not believe at the scene that Orlagh would survive the fall, she is making a slow yet steady recovery from multiple injuries. Medics expect to transfer her to a rehabilitation hospital soon. ‘Everyone that know her knows what a determined strong brave girl she is,’ said Tommy. An online collection at gofundme.com has raised almost €20,000 so far.

The gig at the Harbour Bar will include performances by The False and the Fair, Rick Walshe, and others.
