Council plans over 300 homes in Kilcoole and Greystones
WICKLOW County Council is planning to construct 156 residential units at Lott Lane in Kilcoole. They would be a mix of social, affordable and private.
Around 60 to 70 per cent would be private and the remaining social and affordable.
The project would include 14 one-bed apartments, four twobed duplex apartments, 50 two-bed houses, 66 three-bed houses and 22 four-bed houses.
The council is also proposing to build 166 units at Burnaby Mills in Killincarrig, with a similar mix.
The plans are available at wicklow.ie, and in council buildings in Greystones and Wicklow, up to Friday, March 15.
Submissions for both projects can be made until Tuesday, April 2, 2019, to part8@wicklowcoco.ie, or in writing to David Porter, Administrative Officer, housing section of Wicklow County Council.
These applications are being brought under the Part 8 process, which allows for the application of planning permission for projects by local authorities.
After the public consultation period, a report is made to the members of the council including any submissions and issues raised as well as a recommendation on whether to proceed.
After consideration, the members can decide to proceed, to modify, or not to proceed with the development.
