McGahon kicks-off election campaign
A FUNDRAISING concert was held at the Harbour Bar for Ian McGahon, who is running for Labour in the local election in May, and has been nominated to stand as a substitute candidate for Ireland South in The European Parliament by the Kilmacanogue branch of the Labour Party.
Sheila Nunan, General Secretary of INTO, and former Labour TD Michael McManamara are both seeking to be the MEP candidate for Ireland South.
The Labour Party convention for Ireland South takes place on March 3 in Cork and Mr McGahon will be one of three candidates on the substitute list.
