Accusedof assault

An Aughrim man accused of striking another person with a chair appeared before Arklow District Court last Wednesday.

Philip Smith of 1 Glendale Park, Chapel Lane, Aughrim, was charged with assault causing harm at Main Street, Aughrim, on November 24, 2017.

The court heard that it is alleged the accused hit the injured party across the back of the head with a chair.

Judge David Kennedy accepted jurisdiction and adjourned the matter to March 13, 2018.
