LUCKY PUNTER COLLECTS OVER €11,000 FROM €1 BET

A lucky Co Wicklow punter pulled off an incredible coup last weekend as they turned a €1 bet into a handsome five-figure reward.

The Garden County customer placed the €1 Lucky 63 through the BoyleSports app on Saturday and picked one horse in each of the first six races at Gowran Park in Co Kilkenny.

The bet was nearly downed at the first hurdle when Joseph O’Brien’s Star Max needed a late dash to beat Future Proof and get the bet off on the right foot with a 5/2 winner in the 1.20 p.m.

The next four races were won by favourites with Darasso, Monalee, Smoking Gun and Duc Des Genievres leaving the punter one leg away from the jackpot. That was landed when Reach Up won the 4.15 p.m.

The best odds guarantee added almost €5,000 was to total so that the customer received the figure of €11,376.72.
