RECENT DEATHS

The RDA wishes to extend its condolences to the family of Eddie Murphy, Brewery Place, who died on February 12. The Murphy family are well known in Rathdrum and has been involved in so many organisations in the town. Eddie’s wife Bridget is one of the greatest supporters of the weekly bingo. The RDA expresses its sympathy to Bridget, Geraldine, John and extended family.

The committee also wish to extend sincere condolences to Liam Gahan’s family – Betty, Pamela, Paul and all his extended family. Liam and his family are also familiar to everyone in the locality. Liam fought a brave fight over the past few years, but unfortunately died on February 10. May he rest in peace.

BINGO

Bingo continues as always every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. in the RDA Hall with great prizes.

PARADE

Calling on people of all ages including those who are still very young at heart (but may be slightly older in other areas) to come join us for this year’s Rathdrum St Patrick’s Day parade. We know there are those of you who may have commitments on the day to the various clubs and societies you are a part of, and we appreciate that and look forward to seeing you out there and taking part, but for those of you who perhaps look on each year in admiration and wish you too could be apart of the great festivities or indeed know of someone who would love to strut their stuff down main street, then here is your chance to get involved.

We are asking you to dig deep in your closet, dust off the old costumes that may not have seen the light of day in years, get the kiddies dressed up again in their favourite cartoon or superhero costumes and come join us for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade.

In-keeping with ‘Cartoons’ and with what our festival is all about, we would love to have you on board with us, dressed up as your favourite cartoon or comic superhero character.
