Arklow angling championship logo is launched
The championship logo for the 2020 U16 and U21 World Shore Angling Championships, which will be held in Arklow, has been revealed.
To celebrate the launch of the Arklow 2020 logo, Arklow Town Team is holding a photo competition to select an image depicting the wonderful coastal landscape in the Arklow area. The chosen image will be used to promote the 2020 Championships worldwide, both on printed material and online, and the winner will receive €250 in cash and two tickets to the Championship’s gala dinner to be held in the Arklow Bay Hotel on October 16.
The Irish Federation of Sea Anglers (IFSA), in association with Arklow Town Team, launched the championship logo on Friday last at South Beach in the town. The design will be used to promote the 2020 U16 and U21 World Shore Angling Championships which will be based in Arklow from October 10 to 17.
The photo competition is open to all. Anyone wishing to enter should send their photo by email to arklowtownteam@gmail.com, or by post to Arklow 2020 Photo Competition, Arklow Town Team, Municipal Buildings, Castlepark, Arklow, before 5 p.m. on January 10.
Entrants can find all terms and conditions of the photo competition on the ‘Arklow Town Team’ Facebook page, or can request them by email.
As part of the build up to the event, the IFSA will hold one match of the U21 and U16 Interprovincial Championships on Arklow’s South Beach on Saturday, February 15, 2020. The IFSA have also indicated coaching sessions may be hosted in Arklow during the year for any Junior anglers interested in trying out sea angling.
