Network Ireland Wicklow hosts Christmas party and AGM
NETWORK Ireland Wicklow had a lot to celebrate at their third annual members Christmas party which took place in the Druid’s Glenn Hotel, Newtownmountkennedy.
Before commencing the festivities, the AGM took place where the 2020 committee were officially elected and this year’s 2019 president Nicola Donegan handed over her role to incoming 2020 President Dawn Leane.
Reflecting on her year as 2019 president, Nicola Donegan said: ‘I have been truly honoured to represent the inspiring, authentic and professional women of Wicklow. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my Wicklow Presidency and my 12 month journey. It provides a golden opportunity to learn more about yourself personally, professionally and to connect with other incredible women.
‘I now hand over my President Chain to our 2020 President, Dawn Leane, extremely happy that we have another wonderful year ahead for our valued members. Thank you to everyone who helped, supported and encouraged me along this journey. Here’s to 2020.’
Newly appointed President, Dawn Leane stated; ‘We are looking forward to a strong line up of events and speakers in 2020, providing members with opportunities to develop their skills, showcase their business and, of course, network with other professional women. Our membership continues to grow throughout the county and our Businesswoman of the Year Awards will take place again in May, with local winners going on to the National Competition in October.’
On the night, the Network Ireland Wicklow also celebrated the return of the National Executive to Wicklow as Louisa Meehan takes over as National Network Ireland President for 2020, bringing a considerable spotlight to Wicklow for the coming 12 months.
Speaking ahead of the night, Louisa Meehan said: ‘It is very exciting bringing the Network Ireland national focus back to Co. Wicklow for 2020.
‘ This will provide an opportunity for the members within the Network Ireland Wicklow branch to showcase the best that the county has to offer. Our International Women’s Day lunch is taking place on February 28 in Tulfarris, Blessington with the national conference and gala dinner on October 2 in Powerscourt.’
