Pam Retires after 23 years of service

THE 11th Wicklow Kilmacanog­ue cub pack bid a sad goodbye last Tuesday night to Pam Luckie, a leader with the group for the past 23 years. The county.

Commission­er Dermott Moore attended on the night and thanked Pam for all the work she has done for cubs in Kilmacanog­ue. He kindly presented her with an award for her long service and also with a silver merit award for her dedication and commitment to the cubs over the years. Margaret Sutton, another dedicated cub leader thanked Pam for all her help and support over the past 23 years and described what a pleasure it was to do so.

Aoife Prendergas­t, a cub parent also spoke on behalf of parents and commended Pam on her long service to the 11th Wicklow Kilmac cub pack.

Rhys Pearse a former cub himself, spoke of the fun times he had in cubs and the memories Pam and all the leaders had helped him make.

The night was also attended by members of Pam’s family and many leaders,

Cubs/Scouts and parents in attendance and all wished Pam well in her retirement. The night also coincided with the investitur­e of seven new cubs who are Alan Devlin, Connor and Darragh McGrath, Lexi Tighe, Holly Gaskin, Seán Murray, Ellie Keegan and the departure of 10 older cubs of Ryisa Hunt, Ellie and Casey Hall, Aoibhe Nolan, Alex Condon, Beibhinn Lavery, Emma Duffy, Ava Brown, Conan Ledwitch Daley and Niamh Kelly, who are all moving up to the local scout group.

Pam herself now plans to spend more time with her family, especially her three grandchild­ren and we thank her for all she has done for this community and wish her well for the future. You’ll be missed Pam.
