The Annacurra whist committee would like thank all their supporters throughout the year. Thanks to all our players, the people who look after tea and a word of thanks to all who donated prizes for Christmas raffle. Happy Christmas to you all.

GAA CLUB AGM

We finished our year on Tuesday night with our AGM After three years in charge, Seán Kavanagh stood down from the Chair. Thank you to Seán for all your work in the last three years and also to all the outgoing committee members for their work in 2019.

The new committee is as follows: Michael Doyle in the Chair; Noel Shannon vice-chair; John O’Neill secretary; Declan Byrne Juvenile secretary; Adrienne Byrne treasurer; Colin O’Driscoll Child Safety. Good luck to the new committee and to all teams for 2020.

ANNACURRA’S DANCING

Thanks to all who turned out for the dance last Friday night, December 6. All who attended had a great night.

Thanks to the members of the parish council who helped to organise it and to those who supported it. Our next fundraiser will be in Christmas Week a table quiz in the Saltee on the night of December 28. It’s always a great night so come along.

SVP COLLECTION

Thank you to all who gave generously last Sunday for the St Vincent de Paul Collection which realised €1085.98. If anyone would like to still make a contributi­on, I would be very happy to add it to the total before I hand it over to the Aughrim and Tinahely Conference­s of the St Vincent de Paul.

45 CARD DRIVE

45 card drive will be on Friday, December 20, in the Saltee starting at 9 p.m.

BARNARDOS – USED STAMP APPEAL

Please help vulnerable children in Ireland by simply keeping your used stamps and placing them into the collection boxes, at the following locations, from Sunday, December 8: Annacurra Church, Annacurra; The Saltee Pub. Annacurra; Londis, Aughrim. Please help spread the word, by asking your family, friends and colleagues, to help with this worthy cause. TAI CHI/QI GONG

Classes continue on Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. to midday at Annacurra Community Hall. Beginners welcome. Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibilit­y and mobility. Cost: 80 for a block of eight classes.
