‘Arklow Music Makers from the 1980s to the present’ celebrates some of the bands who have been part of the town’s vibrant musical scene over the last 40 years.

The video was created by local musican Paddy Mallen from his collection of photos of performances by bands in the town over the years. He shared the video online on Facebook where it has received a hugely positive response, bringing back wonderful memories for many people.

‘I had some photos of the bands and I decided to do a video of it. It’s really taken off and it also helps to keep the memories of some of the performers who are no longer with us alive,’ Paddy said.

Paddy has played in several Arklow bands over the years including Harvest and Feel the Pinch. The clip includes photos of performances by many local bands over the last 40 years at venues including the Arklow Bay Hotel, the old Ormonde Hall, the Meeting of the Waters pub and the Rathmines Inn in Co. Dublin. Other Arklow venues featured include Sally O’Briens, The Gin Mill and Christy’s.

Somne of Paddy’s other videos has also received huge support online.
