POPULAR GREYSTONES RESTAURANT FORCED TO CLOSE ITS DOORS

- By MARY FOGARTY

THE owners of Greystones restaurant Three Qs have announced that they will be unable to reopen following the Covid-19 crisis.

Brothers Paul, Brian and Colin Quinn, said in a statement that due to their size, social distancing will impact their business too heavily to make it a viable business. ‘We’ve worked long and hard for nearly 15 years to keep Three Qs going and made it through the big recession, but the closure due to Covid-19 and its lasting effects will be too much for us to overcome,’ they said. ‘While we are saddened about how it’s come to an end, we are immensely proud to have achieved what we have in those years and to have stayed open for so long against so many odds.’

The brothers opened the restaurant in 2006, on the very street on which they grew up. With 30 seats available, demand was high for tables from the get-go, and the high standards of both food and friendly service never dropped in their years in the town.

‘Thank you to all our amazing customers,’ said the Quinns. ‘We truly were a neighbourhood restaurant that saw the same faces at the same times each week. We couldn’t keep the place going without you guys coming back again and again. So a huge thank you to everyone that joined us.

‘Massive thanks to our staff past and present. We’ve been so lucky to work with many great people over the years and so many have stayed with us for many years. We have made many new friends along the way.

‘And of course thanks to our families. Our Mum and Dad for helping out everyday. Our brother and sisters for always being supportive and our own families for keeping us busy at home when we weren’t busy at work!’
