Everyone in the community is welcome to attend this very first training session, which is certainly a landmark occasion.

Car Park Developments: Some of you may have seen the activity and images on the club Facebook page. Things are taking shape, and this does not happy by accident.

So, a big shout out to the local volunteers to date who have been helping readying the new car park in some shape or form, including: John Doran, Noel Kinsella, Alan Darcy, Niall Toolis from NT Heating & Plumbing, Peter O’Sullivan, Martin O’Sullivan, Ger Kelly at GKAS, John Finn of KWIK Window Repairs, John Ward at Ward Construction, Lorcan Clarke, Damien Walsh, John Jones, Justin Cummins, Nuala Haughian Sr, Tom McKeon Sr, Pat Donohoe Sr, Neil Donohoe and to Conor McNamara who lent his motor which got punctured! The list continues… Kevin and Gill McDonald, Bill Walsh, John Rossiter, Michael Reneghan, Colm Phibbs, Daniel O’Riordan, Brenda Jones, John Sweeney, Donal Gahan (and kids!), Tom and Gemma Grace. And of course, a final mention to the self-proclaimed Special One!

All working hard to get the pitch ready for the first Juvenile training session fixed for July 6... well done to all involved.

VALLEYMOUNT

Our lotto draw took place last night under strict social distancing rules. There was no winner of the jackpot, the numbers were: 7, 13, 17, and 30. The three €25 winners were Aisling Maguire, Davy Callaghan and Liz Clarke. The next draw will be on Saturday, July 11, with a jackpot of €10,300.

KNOCKANANNA

The club received good news last week when planning permission was granted for the extension to our dressing rooms.

This is a vital step for us especially for the young hurlers and footballers as we look to upgrade our facilities for all the community. Together with the planned completion of the walking track and improved car park facilities we have high hopes to start the projects shortly.

We had a positive reaction to our club plans launch night (pre Covid-19) and we have received fantastic support to date.

As we move forward and some sort of normality resumes, we will be looking for more people to become club patrons to our direct debit scheme. We have almost 30 patrons to date and the target was to get over 65 in total. If you would like to become a patron or make a donation you can get in contact with any committee member.

We have our drive-in bingo on July 12 to try raise funds as well as our weekly lotto. Thank for everyone’s support and we look forward to a safe return to teams taking the field. #staysafe

Knockananna GAA lotto results from June 28 - numbers drawn were 2, 22, 27and 29. No jackpot winner and no match threes. Seller’s prize: Paul Canna. This week’s jackpot is €18,550. Tickets available online now via Clubforce.ie.

Friday night the club resumed training we ask all mentors and players to follow our covid guidelines to keep everyone safe.

BLESSINGTON

After a long 3.5 months we are delighted to be back at the pitch. As we are all aware now juvenile teams are back training week beginning Monday, June 29.

The Senior and Junior teams returned last week. The club and parents have to work together to reduce the risk of Covid and abide by the national protocols set out.

1. Each team along with coaches will have a Covid supervisor. Parents will be notified of who this is before their training starts back.

2. Anyone can complete the eLearning module. However, a Parent/Guardian for children under 12 must complete the module. Parent/Guardians may also wish to complete the module for youths under the age of 18, but this is a matter for each youth and parent/guardian. All players/ children and coaches have to have completed the E Learning Module and forwarded on the cert once completed. A screenshot is sufficient. https://courses. gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd.

3. All parents/children must complete the online health questionnaire before the first training session. For every session that follows, the parent must log back in on the day of training and declare (with the click of a button) that their health status has not changed. https://returntoplay.gaa. ie. The Covid Supervisor will have access to this to ensure compliance each week and if needs be a reminder text will be sent before each session.

4. If for any reason a child is unwell, they are to remain at home and not come training. We would also suggest that any child/player in the high-risk category seek medical advice before coming back training.

5. We are asking players/kids to come togged out ready to go with their own water bottle clearly labelled. We would suggest all to sanitise hands before leaving home and if young kids especially could use the toilet before coming training too. Toilets will be available in the blue container but on a one-at-a-time basis. Each team will have access to sanitiser and there will be stations in the pitch also.

6. Parents will be notified on their WhatsApp groups what pitches their child will be training on each week, tell them where they need to go when they are dropped. The drop off point will be signposted and directed on the way into the pitch.

Parents of younger children who wish to stay for the session must remain in their cars at all times.

8. If for any reason a child/player becomes unwell during training they will be taken to a dedicated isolation area with the Covid supervisor/coach and the parent will be informed asap. The club will have the necessary PPE gear available if needed.

9. Pick up times after training need to be strictly adhered to as we can’t have players waiting around especially when other teams are coming on afterwards. We are all in this together and we will do what we have to do together. If anyone has any issues or concerns please notify your Team Coach or Covid supervisor. Many thanks to all for your understanding at these times.

McGreals Pharmacy – Thanks to McGreals Pharmacy for their kind donation of hand sanitizer for the club.

Lotto - No winner of the lotto on June

16. Two lucky winners matched three numbers and wins €300 as the Match 3 wasn’t won in the previous draw - Tony Keegan c/o Mark and Michelle, Jenny Nolan c/o Paddy Sargent. Thanks for continued support. The next draw will take place on June 30 and the jackpot will be €3,400.

Lacken-Kilbride GAA – Well done on the development and completion of your new home pitch. We wish you many years of games, training and fun.

ST PATRICK’S

We are all delighted to be getting the club back up and running with accordance to government guidelines. This is a welcome return to activity in the Club. We’ll hopefully get plenty of on field action, something that was greatly missed by us all.

We’ve had to adapt to different ways of doing things, including the way we run our Club. The ‘Safe Return to Gaelic Games’ document is available to read on our Club Facebook page. it’s going to take a combined effort between us at the club, players and parents to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus.

The eLearning module can be completed by anyone, although a parent/guardian must complete the module for kids under 12. All players/children and coaches must have completed the eLearning module and they must forward a screenshot of the cert confirming completion.

We are hoping to have the club lotto back up and running as soon as possible. We will be using ClubForce as our platform for the online lotto. Tickets for the online lotto can be bought on ClubForce, the links are live on our Club Facebook page and website. As always, our club gear is available at O’Neill’s.

During these unprecedented times we have been reminded of the importance of family, community and helping others. Within the Club we have done a number of activities to raise money for worthy charities, to promote positivity and look after our members/community.

Our Senior footballers managed to raise €3,340 for Alzheimer’s Society Wicklow as they collective did 2674.21km through running, walking and cycling, organised by Gary Duffy. We also had a community response team who assisted the elderly in the community. This was led by Alan Lawlor and Eugene Dooley. It was a community response team that helped with shopping and collecting subscriptions or any other help that was needed. It was a great initiative that helped our community during these tough times.

Our PRO Ciaron Noble did a testing challenge of his own raising over €27,000 for frontline workers and Enable Ireland. Well done to Senior player Stephen Duffy and wife Lyndsey Duffy on doing their challenge raising money for the National Maternity Hospital. We are very proud of all these actions during uncertain times.

Our Cúl Camp will run from the 20th to 24th of July. The camp will consist of hurling camogie and football. All players must bring their own helmet and hurl. Please contact Alan Lawlor if you require one on +353862784498.

We would like to thank all our sponsors especially Wicklow Tyres and Canice Hanley who have sponsored our senior footballers since 2005.

Please send any information for club notes to PRO.stpatricks.wicklow@gaa. ie before 9pm on Sunday evenings. You can contact St Pats on Facebook at St Patrick’s GAA Club Wicklow Town or on twitter @StPatsGAAWick.
