Dates for the Tullow Mart Show

-

THE Tullow Sheep Breeders Association has announced the dates for its 2020 shows and sales.

The 33rd show is due to take place on Wednesday, August 5, with social distancing measures in place.

In a statement, the committee said it had discussed the forthcoming breeding season and ‘set the dates for their 33rd annual show and sale and subsequent sales for the association for the current year’.

‘ The committee were made aware of adaptations and changes that will have to be put in place so the sale can run in a format which meets Covid-19 regulation, however the bare principle of these sales has not changed.’

Sheep to be presented for sale must be pre-entered and penned by 9 a.m. Viewing will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The sale will start immediately afterwards, with the facilitation of physical distance and online bidding.

‘ The online platform is a new and exciting chapter for the sale of breeding stock and the association fully endorse its availability on sale days while appreciating all efforts made to ensure ringside availability is paramount for buyers,’ the Tullow Sheep Breeders Association said.

The 33rd show and sale will be held on Wednesday, August 5, with the second show and sale taking place on Wednesday, August 26.

A further sale will take place on Wednesday, September 9.
