Bray Municipal district gets a new manager
CLLR Joe Behan congratulated Lorraine Gallagher on her appointment to district manager.
‘She was acting manager for a number of months,’ said Cllr Behan, who said he has worked with Ms Gallagher for a very long time, going back to when she was in housing in Bray.
‘She was then meetings administrator, acting director and now director, and the promotion is well merited,’ said Cllr Behan.
‘She has the best intentions in anything she does and I have great faith in her,’ said Cllr Behan.
‘It doesn’t mean we will always agree on things!’
Cllr Behan also commended the district staff on the ‘enormous’ efforts they made in arranging meetings during the pandemic.
‘ They have worked so hard to ensure that we have a meeting,’ said Cllr Behan, who thanked district engineer Liam Bourke, administrative officer Triona Irving and district administrator David Forde.
‘Zoom is great for updates
but not for public accountability,’ said Cllr Behan, who acknowledged the hard work put in to prepare the town hall for a safe public meeting.
Ms Gallagher thanked Cllr Behan for his words and said that she feels the support from everyone. ‘I’m very humbled and overwhelmed,’ she said. Ms Gallagher said that leaving county buildings that evening, she was looking forward to coming and seeing everyone in Bray. ‘I look forward to working with you and the staff of Bray on the development of Bray,’ said Ms Gallagher.
