Public access to Lough Dan and the Inchavore Valley remains closed due to ongoing antisocial behaviour, littering and unauthorised camping activities. Access to Kanturk remains open.

GOLF OUTING

Our Captain’s day in Coollattin golf club is going ahead on Saturday, September 12, tee time 12.40 p.m. to 2.50 p.m. Our sponsors are Thomas McHugh and Willie Kenna. Restrictions are still in place e.g. dressing rooms not in use. One person per buggy unless family members. No presentation on the day, prizes to follow at a later date. Other restrictions attached to score cards on the day. Score cards to be placed in the box provided after the18th. Food is available on the day.

JM SYNGE PROJECT

Local theatre maker Cliona O’Connell, and Aughrim based actress Andrea Kelly would love to talk to people in the area who have local knowledge or stories about the playwright JM Synge, the Synge family and their connection to the Roundwood area. Any information you have, no matter how small, is very welcome. We are currently working on the development of a new theatre project sited in the county, re-imagining Synge’s life, work and connection to Wicklow. This project is funded under the Wicklow Artist Award Scheme 2020.

MEDJUGORJE

A pilgrimage to Medjugorje will take place on October 7 for seven days at a cost of €679 fully inclusive. €200 deposit secures booking. This trip will be accompanied by a Spiritual Director.
