ARKLOWCBS
SCHOOL-RE-OPENS
Arklow CBS reopened to students last week.
All the staff were delighted to welcome the students back albeit to a slightly different interior, but rest assured the academic excellence and the friendly atmosphere still prevail here in Arklow CBS.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the maintenance staff, Anthony Doyle and Des Byrne, who were involved in the mammoth task of reconfiguring and transforming classrooms, gyms etc.
Their hard work has ensured the safe return to school for us all in Arklow CBS and is very much appreciated.
Students and staff have all had induction regarding Covid 19 pre
vention and these details are also available on the school website.
FIRST YEARS
We welcomed three First year classes this year. The First years had an induction and participated in socially distanced team building activities. They were also treated to sausage rolls, Friday curry and muffins from our canteen. We wish them all the best as they start out on their secondary school experience.
As well as students we also welcomed some new members of staff including Ms Carey, Ms Murphy, Mr Carney, Ms Kinsella and Mr Hayden and Ms Somers.
We also welcomed two ancillary staff May O’Reilly and Julieanne Roche.
SIXTH YEAR VIRTUAL GRADUATION
The virtual sixth year graduation
took place on Friday, September 4, via zoom. It was a trip down memory lane for all involved and was a thoroughly enjoyable event.
Several online awards took place. Many thanks to Ms Kinsella, Ms Dunne, Ms Domican, Ms Ryan and past pupils Michal Swierchoki, Cian Cooney and Luke Cummins.
Everyone at Arklow CBS wishing the class of 2020 the very best for the future and every good health and happiness. It was a pleasure to teach you all.
LEAVING CERT RESULTS
Leaving Cert 2020 results were issued to students on Monday, September 7. We realise that it was a very difficult and different experience for everyone involved this year.
We wish all our class of 2020 the best of luck as they pursue their chosen third level path.
SCHOOL CANTEEN
The school canteen has reopened offering a selection of rolls, wraps, soup, burger and dish of the day. Students can pre-order their lunch at little break and lunch can then be collected from upstairs in the PE hall using the one way system in place.
