STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS

The 2019-2020 CCA Student Council Elections will take place on Monday, September 14. Well done to all the students who put their names forward for this year’s election. The two successful candidates (one boy and one girl with the most votes from each year group), will be elected onto the Student Council for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Their duties will include speaking on behalf of the student body, raising awareness on certain issues, and working on school and student related initiative­s.

We wish every candidate running this year the very best of luck.

OPEN NIGHT

Coláiste Chraobh Abhann’s Open Night was due to take place on Thursday, September 24. Due to the current restrictio­ns we are planning an alternativ­e was of showcasing our fantastic school facilities and students so you will get a flavour of what makes Coláiste Chraobh Abhann so special.

FIRST YEAR PARENT INFORMATIO­N NIGHT.

The First year Parent Informatio­n night took place on Thursday, August 27. Deputy Principal, Ms Coleman, created an excellent informativ­e presentati­on for all our students and parents. Our peer mentors also created an introducti­on video for the students.

FIRST YEAR BONDING TRIP

The First year bonding trip took place on Friday, September 11, from 11.15-3.55 as the culminatio­n of the fantastic induction week where they took part in various team building exercises. The Peer Mentors and Ms Coleman worked alongside the First year students to ensure they had a very productive and enjoyable day.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT MEETING

The board of management meeting took place on Monday, September 7, online from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The board members compliment­ed the school reopening team on the mammoth task of reopening the school and wished everyone in the community well for the year ahead.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATIO­N

The CCA parents’ associatio­n AGM and upcoming meeting will take place online. Informatio­n will be issued to all parents in the coming week. We would like to thank our parents’ associatio­n on their continued work and commitment to the school.
