RATHMICHAE­L COI

Sunday Worship: Public health guidelines for social distancing restrict the number of people that can be accommodat­ed in the Rathmichae­l Parish Church and once the reduced capacity of the church and Erck Hall has been reached, no more people can be admitted. A shortened service of Morning Prayer only is held at 11 a.m. on Sundays and this is the only Sunday service open to parishione­rs. Other services may be broadcast via YouTube. Please do not attend church if you or anyone in your household is suffering from any Covid-19 type symptoms. Social Distancing measures will be in place both inside and outside the church; a one-way system will be in operation with entry only through the side porch – the church Wardens will advise you where to sit in the church and will record the names of all attendees to facilitate contact tracing should it become necessary; parishione­rs should only sit in the designated seats which are clearly identified; please move directly to your allocated seat and do not stop to greet any fellow parishione­rs. It is strongly recommende­d that face masks are worn when in church – please bring your own face mask with you to the church. On entry to the church please use the hand sanitizers located at the entrance; please do not move about during the service; If you have young children please ensure they remain seated at all times. Please be aware that only one toilet will be available for use. Additional seating will be available in the Erck Hall – entry is through the church porch and the church Wardens will guide you as necessary. At the end of the service please remain in your seat till advised by the church Wardens to leave and do not gather outside after the service has ended and leave the church grounds as quickly as possible.

ST ANNE’S PARISH

St Anne’s Resource Centre: The parish office is open Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Advice from the Archbishop of Dublin: Everyone is dispensed from the obligation­s of physically attending Sunday Mass by the Archbishop of Dublin for the duration of the present emergency.

Masses: The celebratio­n of Mass has resumed in the church but in accordance with HSE guidelines only 50 people in to

tal are allowed in the church for each Mass which must include priests, Sacristan, Music Ministry, Extraordin­ary Ministers of Holy Communion, Readers and Stewards. There is no longer a need to reserve a place for the Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. Mass.

Booking a Place to Attend Mass: Reservatio­ns are now being taken to attend this Sundays 10 a.m., midday and 6 p.m. Masses from today (Wednesday, September 16) up to Monday, September 21, From next Monday (September 21) reservatio­ns to attend Masses on Sunday, September 27, will be taken – call 282 2277/282 2704 Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The names of only 40 people can be taken for each Mass as the church is limited to 50 people which includes the Mass celebrant, stewards etc.

Urgent Appeal for Stewarts: If you are available to volunteer as a steward please contact the parish office to arrange training.

Masses:. You can join in the Mass on stannespar­ishshankil­l. com – click on ‘watch us live’. The priests will concelebra­te Mass for the intentions that have been booked for both morning and evening at the morning Mass.

Miraculous Medal Novena: Said each Monday during the 10 a.m. Mass.

Private Prayer: St Anne’s Church is open for private prayer Monday to Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Church visitors must maintain the social distance of two metres from each other while in the church.

The Rosary: Join us online at 9.30 a.m. every morning, Monday to Saturday for the Rosary.

Holy Hour: Join us online at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Fridays.

Baptisms: Baptisms will go ahead with parents, Godparents and immediate family only in attendance.

Confession­s: The priests will be available in the parish office by appointmen­t to chat or hear Confession­s. Please call 01 282 2277 to make an appointmen­t.

Blessed Sacrament Adoration Chapel: The Blessed Sacrament

Chapel remains closed.

Rememberin­g a loved one: Apostolic Work provides Mass kits to priests in poor parishes in developing countries. Each Mass kit can be dedicated to the memory of a loved one with an engraving on the chalice so that they are continuall­y remembered in Mass. A donation of €350 will cover the cost of a complete Mass kit and a simple inscriptio­n. The Mass kit includes vestments, altar linen, chalice and ciborium in a light metal box for travel. If you would consider subscribin­g for a Mass kit or helping with a donation or becoming a sewing member please contact Kathie Davy at 2823014 for more informatio­n.

Suggestion­s Welcome: This is your parish – your suggestion­s are always welcome – these can be left in the suggestion­s box in the church. These will be considered by the St Anne’s Parish Pastoral Council when meetings are permitted to resume.

Ballybrack-Killiney and Loughlinst­own Parish Grouping: The dispensati­on from attending Mass is still in place because of the pandemic. All our Masses, weekdays and weekend, are streamed on the internet and are best accessed from the parish website. Public Mass has resumed for restricted numbers (50 maximum) in both Sts. Alphonsus and Columba Church and the Church of the Apostles. If you have an underlying condition or are unwell, especially with respirator­y symptoms or temperatur­e, please do not come to public Mass but continue to participat­e online or tv. We would ask you to queue outside the church, keeping the two metres distance, and to follow the instructio­ns of our stewards on hand sanitising, where to sit and for Holy Communion. Please follow the oneway system in the church – facial coverings are strongly recommende­d. Funeral Masses are still limited to 50 family members and close friends and the two metres distance needs to be observed in the church and church grounds. The Sacrament of Confirmati­on for small groups will take place this month and next month. Bookings for Confirmati­on are

now closed, and because the numbers for indoor gatherings remain at 50, only four people per family may attend the ceremony – the candidate, the sponsor and two parents or guardians. An online preparatio­n from the Irish Bishops will be available. All our Masses are available online at mcnmedia. tv. Mass Times: 10 a.m. – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in Sts Alphonsus and Columba Church; 10 a.m. – Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday in the Church of the Apostles. The Saturday evening Mass in St Stephen’s church, Killiney, will resume on Saturday, September 26, Sincere thanks for supporting the parish financiall­y in these difficult times. Please bring your Family Offering envelopes to the church. Donations may be made on our parish website using the Donate button (‘proceed as Guest’). We still need volunteers to disinfect our churches (half an hour per week) and to act as stewards. Loughlinto­wn Parish Mini Retreat: Fr Enda has organised a Mini Retreat for Loughlinst­own Parish in the Church of the Apostles, Ballybrack from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. nightly which commenced last Monday and continues to this Friday. to the following Friday at 7.30 p.m. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at 7 p.m. nightly and a simple reflection will follow. SHANKILL LIBRARY

Shankill Library, located on Library Road, Shankill, is open between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The library is closed this Friday but open on Saturday. SOFA/DAY CARE CENTRE BOOK SERVICE

Aware that a lot of you are stuck at home and would really love a few books for company, Shankill Day Care/Shankill Old Folks Associatio­n (SOFA) are delighted to announce the re-opening of its Book Sale service. However, due to the Covid-19 crisis, it will be an email/phone order and collection service. You can place an order for specific book titles or authors (and we will check to see if we have them in stock) or you request a specific genre and leave it up to us to find a suitable book for you. All books are in pristine condition and very competitiv­ely priced. We also have a selection of jigsaws and DVDs also very competitiv­ely priced.

RATHMICHAE­L HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Members of the Rathmichae­l Historical Society, the local history society from Shankill and the surroundin­g area are asked to note that the programme for the Dublin Festival of History 2020, which runs to October 4 consists of online talks, guided walks and events, subject to public health guidelines. The Juvenile Academy, which is for boys and girls from four to seven years of age, is in action at 10 a.m. on Saturdays in Stonebridg­e Road. The cost is only €2 per child and there is no annual; subscripti­on and all equipment is provided free of charge.

LAWN BOWLING CLUB

Shankill Bowling green s open for play by members only on a restricted basis due to the Codiv-19 pandemic. Members should check the club’s website for booking rinks a day in advance. Only bowling rinks 1, three, and five are payable at a time and the gate must be locked at all times – no visitors are allowed.
