Cancer Support Studyspace Virtualmin­i marathon

Greystones Cancer Support is delighted to be able to offer online classes once again.

Unfortunat­ely the ‘drop in’ service has to remain suspended for the time being in line with NCCP guidelines, however, the group is able to schedule appointmen­ts.

The group’s hypnothera­pist, Eymer Nolan, is running online classes for members on the first Saturday of each month, with the next class due to take place this coming Saturday, October 3, on Zoom.

An online yoga class with Jo Douglas is available every Wednesday, while the singing group continues every Monday evening on Zoom. The writing group meets every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.; an online mindfulnes­s class takes place on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 11.15 a.m.; and online chair yoga takes place on Thursdays from 12.30 p.m. to 1.15 p.m.

Students can now book study space at Greystones Library.

The VHI Women’s ‘virtual’ Mini Marathon takes place from tomorrow (Thursday, October 1) until Saturday, October 10.

Registrati­on is open and Greystones Cancer Support would be grateful if anyone would consider taking part in the event and raising vital funds for the service.

Participan­ts can do the 10k (run or walk) when and where they like.

Registrati­on (at www.vhiwomensm­inimaratho­n.ie) costs €10 and includes a t-shirt and a medal!

Alzpals

Wicklow Dementia Support is seeking volunteers for its Alzpals service.

Alzpals is a befriendin­g service which supports people with dementia who are living at home. Full, free training (online) will be provided with Garda vetting, reference checks, support and ongoing mentoring
