PPN offering chance to check in online with local Councillors
CO Wicklow PPN is following up on the ‘Meet the Candidate’ events it held before last year’s local elections by arranging for local elected representatives to take part in virtual events with the public.
Councillors will join an online Zoom meeting to talk about the highlights of their first year in office, outline their priorities for their MD going forward and answer some questions posed by PPN member groups and the general public.
The meetings will run every Thursday evening in October from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. They will begin with Arklow MD on October 1, followed by Baltinglass MD on October 8, Bray MD on October 15, Greystones MD on October 22 and Wicklow MD on October 29.
Helen Howes Co Wicklow PPN Resource Worker said: ‘Our Meet the Candidate Events in 2019 were very successful and we were asked if we would consider running them again for a catch up with the Councillors a year later. We had planned to do this in March this year, but the Coronavirus came along, and we had to cancel the meetings. However, we are delighted that most of our Co Wicklow Local Elected Reps have confirmed that they will engage with these online meetings and are looking forward to them.’
