Attention turns to inter-county action
AS county finals are coming to a close in Wicklow all eyes will now turn to the county teams in hurling and football as they continue their preparations for the upcoming Allianz National Football League Division 4 and Christy Ring Cup campaigns.
First up for Davy Burke’s footballers will be the visit of Antrim to Aughrim for their penultimate league encounter. With players from all clubs now available to Burke he will be hoping to hit the ground running and get a victory under their belts ahead of the trip to Wexford for the final game.
On the same day, Paddy Dalton’s Minor footballers will take on Longford in Aughrim in the first-round of the Electric Ireland Leinster GAA Minor Football Championship with the winner going on to face Offaly in round two.
On Saturday, October 24, Davy Burke is away to Chadwicks Wexford Park for a 2pm start against the Model County, now under new management following the departure of Paul Galvin in what will be a rehearsal for their Leinster championship clash on the weekend of October 31/November 1.
The county hurlers will make the trip across to Roscommon for their first official fixture on Sunday, October 25, in the opening round of the Christy Ring Cup.
Exciting times ahead after pulsating club championship campaigns in both codes.
