Another mixed bag of results over the weekend for the young glens. The under-8s played four games v Wicklow Rovers and were narrowly beaten in all four. Ellie O’Neill was in great form, defending like a lion, Harvey Ward excellent in the goals, Felice Farrelly had an excellent debut and scored two goals, Paddy Levens and Katie O’Neill got great goals, Bobby Dunne hit two beauties also. But spare a thought for poor Darren Redmond, who had an awful day. He got a smack in the face in the warm up resulting in a bloody nose, got hit in the face twice more during the game and retired home after that. There will be better days ahead for this brave little man we are sure of that.

The under-9s played Enniskerry in four games where they won one and lost three. Ethan Rooney and Seán Levins were in great goal scoring form while Conor Bradshaw was excellent in the goals.

The under-10s were away to Coolboy and Saturday morning and suffered an unlucky 3-2 defeat. Scott

Byrne and Harry Browne got the goals and Seán Minto and Samuel Moraghan were excellent on the day.

The under-11s were at home to Enniskerry and were very unlucky to finish up with a 4-3 defeat. James Ward, Tadgh Renolds and Ben Merrigan got the goals in a game the glens felt hard done by to come away with nothing but they all played brilliantly.

The under-12s had a very good win, beating Greystones 3-1. Cian Levins got two with Eoin Bunce hitting the net in a good team display.

The under-13s had a great win away to Greystones. Luke Honan scored twice with Luke Kelly also netting in a great 3-0 win for the team with Captain Tony Prendergast leading the way.

The under-15s were at home to

Wicklow Rovers on Sunday afternoon and put up a good second half showing in a 5-2 defeat. Trailing 3-0 at half time, Rovers made it four after the restart but the glens did not let the heads drop and hit back with goals from Captain Kieran Griffiths and Sam Condon.
