Plucks Captains Day

The Plucks Golf Society Captains Day took place in Rathsallagh Golf Club last Saturday, September 26. Society Captain Jim Messitt was in great form on the day but cannot win his own Captains Prize and that hour fell to Paul Murphy, who shot a brilliant 37 points. Greg Cullen also shot a fantastic 37 points but he had to settle for second on a countback while Robert Moore came third with 33 points.

Tom Byrne won Category One with the evergreen Danny Nolan second, Category Two was won by Mick Holly with Kevin Molloy second and Category Three Winner was Ian Devlin with Louis Nally second. The front Nine was won by Greg O’Donnell (because he is the treasurer and had to win something) while Anthony McGrath won the back nine. The Visitors prize was won by Jimmy ‘Mavo’ Davis with big Ricky Thomas taking second.

Well done to all the committee on putting the event together in these difficult times as the Captains Day is the highlight of any golf society each year so great credit to all.
