FLATULENCE, or let’s get real, farting, is a common problem. It’s normal but when it increases in frequency or intensity something will have to be done. Especially if nobody else can use the bathroom for ages after you!

Flatulence can be with or without odour, it can be silent or loud, either way it can be very embarrassing. Some of you will have occasional bouts of flatulence that you can associate with some food you have eaten. For many you cannot identify the cause.

Food is digested in the small intestine. What is left over moves to the large intestine to be moved out. Any food that isn’t properly digested can ferment and produce gas, a by-product which can be smelly or not depending on what you have eaten.

Flatulence that has no odour is usually associated with carbohydrates like bread and pasta. Sugar, alcohol, and fizzy drinks can also cause windy farts, belching, and bloating.

While flatulence with odour can be linked to vegetables like cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and onions. It can also be associated with eating too much protein, fatty foods, and dairy.

Red meat, pulses, and lentils can cause it too. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you are intolerant to these foods it can just mean that you don’t have the enzyme or enough good gut bacteria to deal with these.

Common causes include eating too fast, not chewing well, inadequate digestive enzymes, inadequate good gut bacteria. Digestive enzymes can help you break down food groups that you have a problem with.

A course of probiotics will supply you with an improved level of good gut bacteria to keep those bad ones at bay.

Charcoal tablets are a popular choice by our customers. They help relieve the symptoms of gas and bloating.

A.Vogel Yarrow Complex is a digestive bitter that helps the digestive system to produce its own enzymes, wakes it up as such, and helps the body digest these difficult to digest foods. It helps with bloating and food intolerance too.

Why suffer when we can help, it’s not just for you, other people have to put up with this problem too!
