Covid cases emerge in various schools

-

A NUMBER of local schools have contacted parents to inform them of confirmed cases of Covid-19 among students and teachers.

In each case, close contacts of the patients have been informed and given advice regarding how to proceed. The remaining families have been informed.

A student and a teacher at Coláiste Craobh Abhann in Kilcoole have tested positive for Covid-19.

This is according to a letter which parents received on Monday. All of their close contacts in the school setting have been notified and they are restricting their movements in line with the advice from the HSE.

According to the letter, the public health authorities were very complimentary of the wearing of masks in school, reducing the risk of close contact.

St Kilian’s Community School in Bray sent an email to parents on Saturday, informing them of a positive case in the school.

The HSE has identified a number of close contacts of the person, and has been in contact with their parents in relation to the steps they must now take.

One case has also been identified at Loreto secondary school in Bray.

The public health advice for families is that if they do not receive information that their child is a close contact of a patient, they can go to school as usual.
