Memorial concert raises over €11,000

-

AN ONLINE concert held last Saturday night has raised more than € 12,000 for the Shauna Kavanagh Foundation.

Musician Robbie Doyle, who spearheaded the event, thanked everyone involved for making it such a huge success.

‘ It was a massive event for us and it went amazingly,’ said Robbie. ‘ Thanks to everyone who donated, who shared and who sent in videos. We raised € 11,000 and it’s still going up. I want to say a personal thanks to Brendan, Anne and Dylan, for letting me be a part of this.’

‘ Sing for Shauna’ was held to commemorate the Windgates woman, who passed away on October 4, 2017, aged 30. Shauna had cystic fibrosis and her family and friends are now helping others in her honour.

The Shauna Kavanagh Foundation was established to provide assistance to those who are seriously ill and their families.

The foundation has a partnership with the St Christopher Ward in St Vincent’s Hospital.

They help people who have CF in Ireland with things like food expenses, parking costs, phone credit and financial support at home,’ said Robbie.

Robbie performed at Shauna’s 21st and he organised the fundraising concert. He performed via Zoom and was joined by guests Hannah Stockwell Quinn, Dave Butler, Brian McFadden, Hudson Taylor and many more.
