Lakers’ annual Glendalough walks going ahead this month

-

LAKERS’ Glendalough walk will be going ahead on Saturday, October 17.

Donations and support from the walks will help Lakers to bounce back after so many cancelled events this year and will mean they can continue to provide vital online and onsite activities to members with special needs.

Lakers are offering three beautiful walks, all social distancing friendly.

Walk A, ‘The Spinc’ will take in the board walks to the Spinc, returning by the Miners Fillage. The 9km walk is moderate to difficult and will take three hours, with registration from 11 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The walk will begin at 11.45 a.m.

Walk B is the Woodland Walk. The route will include the woodland path along the grey road. The path rises to about 90 metres. The distance is 4km and the duration around two hours. Registration is from 12.15 p.m. to

12.45 p.m. and the walk begins at 1 p.m.

Walk C is the easy lake-side walk. This wheelchair accessible route includes the green road along the lakeside. The leisurely walk is suitable for children

and lower levels of fitness. The distance is 3km and the duration around one hour. Registration is from 1.15 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. and the walk begins at 1.45 p.m.
