Appeal to reduce speed approaching Delgany junction
IN A notice of motion before Greystones Municipal District, Cllr Derek Mitchell asked the council to take measures to reduce the speed of cars on Delgany Wood Avenue and improve sight-lines for some exits on to it.
The engineer’s report before the members included a project along those lines.
Under the NTA stimulus package, funding of €200,000 has been allocated to reduce the carriageway to six metres, upgrade cycle tracks and junctions to current design standards and provide a signalised crossing point.
Other projects in the stimulus package include: works at Windgates to reduce the carriageway, increase footpath widths and provide uncontrolled crossing locations; and at an unnamed road by Lidl, to raise cycle tracks off the road and reduce carriageway widths.
