Challenging time for business

The move to Level 3 restrictions is ‘challenging and disappointing’ for businesses, according to the Arklow and District Chamber of Commerce (ADCC).

The body was reacting to the announcement that Covid restrictions will be tightened from today ( Wednesday).

ADCC President Garrett Dempsey said he is acutely aware that this move will be challenging and disappointing for many businesses. ADCC spokesperson said, ‘ The local economy has been relentlessly challenged over the last number of years however the business community has fought back by working together to bring about sustainability and growth. This is now is in danger and we do not want to have to take steps back here in Arklow. Retailers and the local business community have done everything asked of them since March and as a Chamber we believe more transparency is urgently needed from the Government in providing the right financial supports & relevant guidance for businesses.

‘ The ADCC is part of a sustainable network of Chambers under Chambers Ireland, and we will continue to evolve our support to the local business community as we navigate through the Covid-19 crisis,’ they added.
