Launch of ‘Sowing Acorns’ album

-

THE Emma Langford Trio will perform at Whale Theatre in Greystones on Friday, October 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets are €25 at Whaletheatre.ie.

Emma Langford is joined by Arkansas’ Alec Brown on cello and Virginia’s Ray Yrure on percussion for an intimate sharing of her highly acclaimed new album ‘Sowing Acorns’.

In light of pandemic restrictions, the trio were forced to postpone the album’s month-long première tour in Germany and the UK this spring but, undeterred, they are bouncing back and thrilled to hit the road in Ireland, bringing a brand-new collection of original songs to Greystones for the first time ever.

In 2017 Limerick’s Langford released ‘Quiet Giant’, the debut album which paved her way to multiple award nominations, accolades and critical acclaim from County Mayo to the state of Milwaukee. In 2018, she earned the inaugural RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award for ‘Best Emerging Artist’.

In September, she released her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Sowing Acorns’, a collection of 13 warm and reflective songs produced between Limerick, Laois and Dublin by Grammy nominated duo The Production Suite. Emma is not only a unique voice in the international music scene, but also a proud vocal advocate for social justice and equality. While in lockdown at home in Limerick, she has dedicated her time to raising funds and awareness for various charities through virtual concerts hosted on her social media channels.
