Knockananna prove too strong for brave Aughrim

-

KNOCKANANNA booked their place in the Wicklow Camogie under-14 ‘A’ county final when they dispatched a brave and capable Aughrim team by 4-7 to 1-5 in last weekend’s semi-final on Saturday afternoon.

The Knockananna team were physically stronger than their Aughrim counterparts who never stopped trying throughout.

Zoe Katus and Áine Darcy were the Knockananna stars who were able to hurt Aughrim on the scoreboard.

Aughrim battled bravely in all sectors of the field but just couldn’t make headway against a formidable Knockananna outfit who were ruthless all over the field on a good day for camogie in Pearse’s Park.

Knockananna will now go on to face Kiltegan who powered to an impressive victory over Carnew Emmets in the second semi-final, played on Sunday morning at the same venue.

This has the makings of a cracking game as both sides are littered with talented hurlers and with capable forwards on both sides expect a big tally.
