Soccer action

Not too many teams in action last weekend. The under-10s travelled to Newtown on Saturday and deserved better than a 2-0 defeat. The team played really well and created many chances but luck was not with them on the day.

The under-11s travelled to Arklow on Sunday and won 10-1 in awful wintery conditions. The goals came from Darragh Murray (2), Ben Merrigan (2), Arlo Rutter McManus (2), Killian Kearns, Hazel Prendergast, Tadgh

Reynolds and Darragh McGrath (one each) with Darren Redden and James McGrath outstanding.

The under-13s were at home to Wicklow Rovers and played really well on a terrible day for both teams in a 3-2 defeat. Seán Mooney was in brilliant form and scored twice for the glens in a great team performance.

Soccer academy

The Glencormac United FC Soccer Academy for four to seven years olds is up and running four weeks now and continues to attract great numbers. This is a bit of fun for the kids and free of charge so no parent need be worried about paying up front fees and then their child not liking the morning. Please come along any Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to Ryders Field on the Quill Road and give your contact details to Ollie or Adrian and just let your child have fun for an hour.

Golf Society

The next outing of Plucks Golf Society will take place this Saturday, October 10, in Charlesland Golf Club.
