Premier Division

Arklow United ‘A’ moved up to third place in the WDFL Premier Division with a 3-0 win over Avonmore ‘A’ in Ballygannon on Sunday.

Adam Rochford opened the scoring when he dinked the ball past the onrushing Avonmore goalkeeper and Conor Dodd doubled their tally before the interval, firing into the bottom corner of the net when their opponents failed to clear a corner.

Rochford grabbed his second with 25 minutes remaining to wrap up the points, arrowing a shot to the net from the edge of the box.

Division 3

Avonmore ‘B’ moved to within five points of leaders Rathnew ‘B’ with a convincing 5-1 triumph against bottom side Wicklow Rovers ‘C’ at Whitegates on Sunday.

The hosts actually got off to the perfect start, with Lorcan Sinnott giving them an early lead, but Avonmore took control and ran out comfortable winners thanks to a Cormac McGraynor hat-trick and a goal apiece from Andy Nolan and Peter Kennedy.

Youths Division

Shillelagh United ‘A’ continue to lead the way in the Youths Division after storming to an 8-1 success over Aughrim Rangers in Allen Park on Sunday.

Conall Butler helped himself to a hat-trick, Donal Rawson added a double, while Fionn Darcy, Eddie Cullen and Thomas Kelly got in on the act.

Arklow United had far too much firepower for Coolboy Rangers, winning 10-2 with goals from Lukas Godkin (two), Aaron Geraghty, Aaron Reddin, Callum Hodgkinson, James Keeley, Rory Curley, Aiden Cox and Prasert ‘New’ Kheereepaibool.

Meanwhile, Ashford Rovers picked up three points without having to kick a ball as they were handed a walkover from Shillelagh United ‘B’.
