CONSUMER PRICES

Annual price inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index, averaged -1.0% through 2020, according to the CSO. The most notable annual price falls measured in December were clothing and footwear (-7.8%), transport (-4.1%), furnishings and household equipment (-3.9%), housing and utilities (-1.9%) and food (-1.6%). Price hikes were recorded for health services (2.8%) and restaurants and hotels (2.5%).
