ACTIVITY Our staff continued to work from home but remained in contact with clients, fellow staff members and colleagues by using technology through our cloud environment. Clients have also adapted and have accepted the changes of us not being on site. Through enhanced planning and communication, we have been able to successfully complete all assignments within agreed timelines.

REMOTE WORKING We planned for working from home in advance of the first lockdown with a trial run in early March. Our staff adapted immediately by working with our IT team, to ensure they all had a secure and operational work space at home. Communication, team learning and development have proved the greatest challenges in lockdown. We have worked strenuously to develop all managers and directors to manage their staff remotely, using outside training partners and adopting best practice.

CLIENTS The retail and hospitality sectors have been hit hardest during all the lockdowns. With no end in sight, the issue is not just monetary but clients having the mental resilience to bounce back again.

BUSINESS SUPPORTS The government has tried its best with the resources available, and I am sure we would all have done something different. The government should consider applying tax to the payments received by employees whose employers availed of the TWSS scheme, or employees who needed to claim the PUP.

‘The issue is clients having the mental resilience to bounce back’
