‘We have had strong performances across all sectors’ Head of Office Pinsent Masons Dublin
ACTIVITY All of our teams have been extremely busy over the last 12 months and we have had strong performances across all sectors in our Dublin office. Despite the pandemic even our real-estate team has been kept busy with their involvement in energy and infrastructure transactions. The firm’s transactions and advisory teams in Dublin now include corporate, commercial, sourcing, employment, intellectual property, life sciences, litigation, regulatory, data, technology, cyber, investment funds, insurance, banking, energy, projects, infrastructure and real estate.
REMOTE WORKING We had invested significantly in the transition to agilefriendly workspaces and business practices in 2018 and 2019, and I had been working
from home two days a week before the Covid-19 crisis, as were many of our staff. Communication with colleagues and clients has been smooth and, if anything, improved by a sharper focus on ensuring that meetings and virtual events are more focused and efficient.
OUTLOOK Brexit has led to an increase in work for most of our teams. We have a UK office, so we can advise on both sides of the matter, which is hugely beneficial to our clients. Our intellectual property team has also continued to grow, and the volume of client work has increased. This area is a huge global focus for our firm as we continue to deliver on our pan-European offering. There is a lot of activity in financial services, with a renewed emphasis on new product launches. Our insurance, employment and corporate M&A teams have also been extremely busy too.
Our climate change and sustainability goals are a priority now more than ever, and we have established a multidisciplinary climate change advisory team across the network. The group comprises experts from across the firm, including three of our Dublin partners who are advising clients on the full range of climate and sustainabilityrelated matters.
