Alpine’s Heavenly Suspension

Renault will start importing its Alpine brand into Ireland later this year. The Alpine A110 has been on sale in other markets since 2017 and is expected to be priced at c.€80,000. The A110 Legende version tested is fitted with a 1.8-litre petrol, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine with 248bhp and 320Nm of torque.

The lightweight Alpine A110 reaches 100km/h in a claimed 4.5 seconds but definitely feels a lot faster because of the delicacy of the steering and its superb chassis. It’s also a far more rewarding car to drive than the Porsche 718 Cayman, which is in a similar price bracket.
